A Winter Outfit Of The Day :)

Hola Chicas :)

Yesterday I went out with a friend for the day; it was really good weather for a change, as it has been miserable for the past week, raining and absolutely FREEZING!! The day was not hot but it wasn't cold either, it was just right. We went to the Botanical Gardens and then walked around North Wollongong (near the beach), in the sun. We then had some lunch at a cafe, which was called 'Levendi', overlooking Wollongong Harbour :) It was a great day!

I have been wanting to post an 'Outfit Of The Day' for a while now, but I never find the time to take pictures of what I am wearing, and by the time I return home, I am extremely tired. So, since I had a bit of time before my friend picked me up, I decided to take a few pictures and share with you what I wore for my day out :)

Black Dolman insert top from Kmart ~ $15
Black leggings from Kmart ~ $8

Cute Cream flats from Kmart
~ $8
Ring from Equip ~ $3
Pearl beaded bracelet from Equip ~ $5

My mum actually received this scarf from
Spain as a gift from my auntie
15 = $18

There you have it! I think this was a very casual but nice outfit for a sunny winters day. On top of this outfit, when it was a bit chilly during the day, I wore my black coat that I bought from ICE, which you can view below:

Black coat from ICE ~ $39.95
This coat also comes with a hood, but you are able to remove the hood from the coat!

I will also tell you about the make-up products that I used on a another post that I will post really soon for this look:

Hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you are all having a lovely weekend :)

Tag: This or That?

Hola chicas! I have been extremely busy with University exams that I have not had the time to post in my blog :( But today, since I am having a lazy day and it has been raining ALL weekend, I though it would be fun to do a tag! I came across this tag a while back on missglamorazzi's channel on Youtube and it seems like a lot of fun! Here goes...

My everyday foundation routine

Hola everyone,

It is the beginning of another week! I cannot believe how quickly time goes by.
Today I wanted to share with you guys my everyday foundation routine. This routine makes me feel as if I am not wearing any foundation on my face at all. I wear this make-up when I am going out with my friends doing a bit of retail therapy or going out for lunch or coffee and also when I go to Uni. I often receive many compliments about how nice my skin looks and people also ask me if I am even wearing any foundation. Honestly, I do not have perfect skin at all. I have hyper-pigmentation scars that have been left behind from, not so much acne, but from when I had a severe case of chicken pox when I was younger. I feel like this make-up helps cover up my hyper-pigmentation scars.

I deal with 'combination skin' which is a common skin type and consists of dry and oily skin. I have really oily skin around my forehead, nose and chin area which causes breakouts around these areas on my face the most. But my cheeks and temple area are always really dry. So I feel like this foundation routine keeps my face hydrated throughout the day. Depending on what I do at night, such as go out for a coffee with friends I wear this make-up as well, instead of any liquid foundation.

These are the products that I use:

NIVEA Tinted Moisturising Day Cream 50 ml Natural
$9.99
Priceline

Maybelline Fit Me Powder $14.95
Priceline

These products are extremely affordable. Just to clarify, I use the number 225 in natural buff for the powder. Before I apply the tinted moisturiser, I moisturise my face with my 'NIVEA Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream' from Priceline. This cream is for the face, body and hands. I love using this moisturising cream on my face because it makes me feel fresh and it keeps my face extremely hydrated throughout the day and does not leave my face feeling greasy at all. I then rub the tinted moisturiser softly on my face with my fingers, making sure that it is distributed evenly all over my face. When I am done with that, if needed, I use my 'Australis Concealer Stick' also from Priceline, and only apply it to the area of my face that has a break-out or to help cover up really bad hyper-pigmentation. After that, using my 'BYS Kabuki Brush' from Gloss, I apply the powder all over my face in a circular motion. For a hint of colour on my cheeks, I sweep on a nice, light blush across my cheek bones.

Before - only moisturiser on my face

After

So, there you go :)
My everyday foundation routine. It looks very natural and leaves your skin with a fresh glow.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post and let me know in the comments below if you liked this foundation routine. What are your favourite face products?

My saviour before exams

Long time, no post!

My days have been extremely busy lately due to University taking over my life!! I apologise for not being able to post any blogs lately due to exams. Exams, as you all know, are very VERY stressful and can make an individual feel nervous and scared; because let's admit, these things can be really scary.

So, how do I help my body and brain to relax while studying for an exam and to calm my nerves on the morning of the exam itself?

Well, here is my way of helping myself to chill out. While I study for an exam, after a certain amount of time, I feel like my brain slowly stops taking things in, and this is when I stress out even more because I feel like I don't know anything even though I have studied so much. When this happens I make myself a nice, warm Chamomile tea. This tea is amazing! It calms my nerves almost instantly.

I also drink this the morning of an exam as it calms the nerves before I enter the exam room with a clear mind and no 'butterflies' in my stomach. This way I am able to think about what I have studied more clearly without my brain stressing out and thinking:

"I can't remember anything!"
"What am I going to do!"
"OMG I am going to F.A.I.L!"

Chamomile tea is honestly my saviour before an exam (and also in everyday life if I feel a bit down or stressed). If you are a stress head like myself, then I really recommend you try this out anytime you feel nervous or stressed. I do not have any sugar in it at all, only the tea bag and hot water.

This tea also helps with stomach pains!

Here is a website that explains 'Chamomile tea' in detail if you would like to know what ingredients are used in this particular tea and the health benefits it has:

Hope this helps :) If you guys have any tips and tricks on how to calm nerves before an exam or in everyday life, please leave a comment below, I would love to read them.

Nineteen Minutes...

There is no denying that life can be really tough at times. But for some people it can be worse than others (especially teenagers).

The novel 'Nineteen Minutes', written by Jodi Picoult, who indeed is my favourite author, explores the life of a teenage boy who has been bullied throughout his school life. Once he has had enough of feeling alienated, worrying about what the bullies will do next and being humiliated over and over again, he ends up doing the unexpected...

This emotional novel takes place in a town where there has been a school shooting and bombing. The relationship between two childhood best friends, Josie Cormier and Peter Houghton, becomes strained when they enter Secondary School. Josie tries extremely hard to 'fit' into the popular group and succeeds. Whereas, on the other hand, Peter is considered a "nerd" and an outcast. But not only did Peter feel like an outcast at school, but at home as well. Peter was the youngest child in his family, he had an older brother. They went to the same school, but his brother was an athlete and was a member of the popular group (the group that makes fun of Peter just because he is different), and on top of this Peter always felt that his parents favoured his brother.

Peter develops a crush on Josie, but Josie stops interacting with Peter, as she doesn't want her position in the so called 'popular' group to be jeopardised. Throughout the years Peter goes through dealing with changes in his life from being a child to becoming a young adult. But he also deals with bullying at school and attempting, in every way he can, to tell the girl of his dreams that he loves her.

We are taken through each characters perspective on the shooting "unfolding" every layer, revealing the unexpected...

I really enjoyed this novel as it explores the meaning of being different. I wouldn't say that it is an easy read, because instead of the book having different chapters (for example chapter 1, 2, 3...), the story changes from one character to another. Not only that, the period of time changes as well (e.g. from present to tense). But I love reading books that get my brain working (I like a mystery). Other than that, the book is GREAT!! I really recommend you guys to read this book. It is very emotional and frustrating at times, but extremely interesting.

I must also include that this novel does include adult themes!
(Sorry to you younger readers out there. But your time will come, I promise :) )

Please let me know in the comments below if you enjoyed reading this book review. If any of you are crazy about reading books (just like I am), please leave me any suggestions of books that you have enjoyed reading in the comments as well :)

Hola chicas!

This is my first blog which is a pretty exciting moment!! I'm sharing the love up in here <3
I have been wanting to do this for a while actually, but I never could really find the time to sit in front of my laptop and type away. Because, being a university student can be stressful and extremely time consuming! If you yourself are a university student then you will totally understand. Tough times *sigh*.

I never really give myself 'alone' time, in which I am always studying - "head down bottoms up"... pfft yeah 0_O
I am always feeling worn down and never get to do things that I really enjoy doing, such as going to the gym, shop for clothes and make-up (omg!); reading interesting novels (I just finished one a week ago that I started last year during my last year of High School). See what I mean guys. There is absolutely no time!! But I guess that is where all us stress heads go wrong. In order to do things that we love, we have to make the time. This is very important and it is a MUST, because it is extremely unhealthy for us not to. Go out with your friends, be nerdy (like I am) and read a book, go for walks in the fresh air and workout! (I think I should start taking my own advice on this one :| )

So my point here is that we need to chill out at times and give ourselves the time of day. And I am starting here with blogging :) My name is Talia, I'm 18 years young and I am in love with cosmetics and fashion; I am a singing teacher and I am a huge nerd. These blogs are going to consist of my life, reviews and tips with cosmetics and fashion, my favourite music and reviews on books that I have read. Everything that I post is purely my own opinions.

Hope you enjoy this journey as much as I will sharing it with you guys!

Adios (for now) xx
